Dr. FreedmanWhen athletes experience injuries that throw their vertebrae out of alignment and thereby inhibit spinal movement, the resultant vertebral “subluxations” (misalignments) interfere with athletic performance. Chiropractic treatment can help relieve pain and restore movement to affected joints by realigning the spine with “adjustments.” These manual manipulations of vertebral joints consist of pressing forcefully in the direction of the restrictions to gently realign and mobilize the spine. Adjustments can also be used as part of a preventive strategy that essentially amounts to a “tune-up” to detect overuse or re-injury to the area. In addition, athletes can benefit from preventive maintenance, which helps ensure that no new joint restrictions develop that may restrict future athletic performance.

Chiropractic care offers a natural way to treat and prevent many different ailments that often plague athletes. To schedule an appointment, please call FAMILY PRACTICE OF CHIROPRACTIC at 617-472-4220. We can help patients with sports injuries, chronic pain, and acute trauma. We often help patients that have tried many other types of treatment, even other chiropractors, to no avail. Our familyoriented practice is located at 112 McGrath Hwy., Quincy.

P.S. Professional and worldclass amateur athletes regularly rely on chiropractic care to preserve their well-being and optimize their performance.
