If you suffer from neck pain, you might want to read a report from The Annals of Internal Medicine before you reach for the pain pills. According to the study, when 272 patients suffering from acute and subacute neck pain were provided with either medication, exercise with the advice of a health practitioner, or chiropractic care, those who received chiropractic treatment fared best. After 12 weeks of treatment, those in the exercise and chiropractic groups experienced the most pain reduction. Compared to the medication group, both exercise and chiropractic treatment more than doubled the likelihood that participants experienced complete relief of their pain. Chiropractic patients realized benefits that lasted for at least a year, providing proof of chiropractic’s long-term benefit.
As today’s column suggests, chiropractic is the safest approach available for relief from neck pain, back pain, headaches, and other health complaints. At FAMILY PRACTICE OF CHIROPRACTIC, we have many years of experience to ensure that each adjustment is precisely delivered. We’re locat- ed at 112 McGrath Hwy., Quincy. Please call 617.472.4220 to schedule an appointment and let us help you. We are able to adjust patients sitting, standing, or lying down to accommodate any level of discomfort.
P.S. The effectiveness of exercise and chiropractic in treating neck pain demonstrates the wisdom in addressing the cause(s) of pain instead of just masking the symptoms with drugs.
